Tips for Suikoden Tierkreis

There are walkthroughs but no real tips for Suikoden Tierkreis.

Some useful tips:

No. 1: Explore the dungeon! Some of the better equipments that you can get early game play are found there. It really helps. There are also hidden rooms in some of the dungeons.

No. 2: Level your characters smartly. As per the other Suikoden games, low level characters can gain levels very fast with high level mobs. However, you should not waste any time doing this until you reach the desert part of the game unless necessary. There are some characters that the game will force you to take during important story line quest so you might want to focus on those instead until the desert.

If you want to be over levelled (personally I wouldn't, make the game way too easy), the Mysterious Ruins at Citro Plains in the beginning of the game is excellent. Jale, Hero, and Marica will be over levelled if you survive the dungeon.

Wilds of Veile is good for levelling those level 10 to 20 recruits that you picked up though the Desert is even better. You can probably hit level 40s if you fight the monsters at the desert and visit the mysterious ruins there.

No. 3: Kill mini boss with ease. Once you get Gadburg and some character with skills that cause sleep, you can kill any mini boss with minimum effort. Unfortunately it doesn't work on storyline bosses. This is still a very useful exploit especially when you meet Fanged Silk Moth (argh!). Also one of the easiest way to train characters at level 40. I heard that the unbalanced effect works for this as well.

No. 4: Trade rumours. Probably the easiest way to earn money in the game. Trade rumours reset every year on the first day of the bud season. You can go for several seasons without any rumours. It's all random. Some rumours can earn you tons of money early game play.

No. 5: Unlock equipments and items. There are two ways to unlock equipments. By progressing through the game, and by trading goods at a profit. By buying and selling things at profits, equipment, status/health items will be unlocked at your castle. End game items can be bought before hitting midpoint in the game if you know what you are doing.

Five DS

Four months ago I mentioned that I might have 5 sets of DS next year at home. As of today 12/1/09, there are now 5 sets of DS since I have just bought a new one. I suppose this means that I can organise DS party at my own house with my family members every night. Though I did wondered if the money spent on all the DS would be better off used on Wii.

This also means that the likelihood of playing any mmorpgs is officially over. I'm still thinking what I'm going to do this blog. It's been collecting dust and I'd rather update my other blogs than this. Ah well.

Perfect World International

Perfect World International open beta is coming out soon (next week).

From what I see and heard, it will definitely be better than then malaysia version (which is in a horrible mess with gm abuses and all lol). The item mall will be more expensive of course.

What is interesting is that Perfect World International DOES NOT allow fake guilds to bid for land. That should be very good news for everyone!

My exams are almost finish and I will most likely start working on the guides again. However due to months of inactivity, I have have lost interest in perfect world.

The HH guide will be discontinued as there are guides for it at other alternative websites. I will still work on Divine Books and crafting quest (for the level 8 quest) as well as a simple FAQ to the Godless Valley. If I have time (and interest) I will work on guides on duo grinding as well as useful things to know in Perfect World.

Yup. Someone threaten that he will cut me if I do not pick all herbs and only pick only one type (which is agrimony grass in this case). I find this whole conversation entirely funny because firstly what is deal? Does the herbs belong to anyone? Does it belong to mr black in this conversation? You're pissed just because I messed up your perfect herb farming timing? I'll like to see this guy deal with people who farm materials for wood. He'll probably have a field time pming each and everyone one of them. Oh and those who farm only oroxylum.

After I retorted, I thought hey that guy will never stfu! So I just blacklisted him.

This is on the same IQ and EQ level of that guy mentioned here.

Strange concidences

EDIT: random grudge invasion is not random. Please view here for more details. This proves that I am overly paranoid.

Normally I don't really care about the politics of server but this is tad too coincidence....

Two nights ago, X did world mission and saw a great number of players from the biggest guild in oracle server at the thousand stream city around 11pm (+8gmt). He didn't think much of it and continued with his mission to eastward screen. When he completed and flew back towards thousand stream city, he saw those players hitting mobs from the supposedly random grudge invasion.

One night ago, the gm congratulated ABC player from the same guild for hitting level 100.

I don't know about you but this feels kind of fishy hmm? Does the GM knows that player? And how did they know that the grudge invasion was about to begin? They were obviously waiting at the city for the event to start. Maybe the event wasn't random at all. (maybe my tests were wrong?) Maybe the Gm congratulates everyone who hits level 100 (quite an accomplishment afterall). Maybe I'm just overly paranoid?

I have gotten a close beta invitation to ROHAN: Blood Feud but I'm not going to playing it. Perfect world is taking up a lot of my free time and studies take up the rest of it. A number of my former guild members from Dominion (Granado Espada) are planning to play together (reform?) in ROHAN. Sorry guys (and gals) I can't play with you >.<

If anyone wants to form a guild, do note that you need to fish for certain fishes and these fishes are hard to get if you do not have a higher quality rod.

1. What are Divine Books
Special books that you can create using wordless divine books and divine book fragments.

2. What types of Divine Books are there?
There are five categories. Each category require a certain amount of item to create the books. The last level for instance requires 567 items to create but the stats are equally pawnage.

3. How do I use them?
Place the completed book to the heaven slot below the hierogram slots.

4. No one ever uses it!
That's because MY-EN's patch doesn't have the dungeon where you can farm for it.

5. How do I create the books?
Go to thousand stream city. Use the furnace in the middle. The stats can viewed there.

According to Oisín, these books can be crafted in MY-EN right now.

General HH information
HH stands for Holy Hall of dusk. The original use of this term actually comes from the Chinese server as the short form of the Chinese pinyi is HH. But of course I doubt you want to know anything about this.

HH is a dungeon map that you can hunt for materials for lvl 60 to lvl 100 green/gold/orange weapons/armour/accorises.

There are a series of names for various areas you can go but I'm too lazy to type that. >.> Instead we will focus on what players call these areas.

HH 1-1 - This is the basic map. There are only 2 bosses. People hunt mats here to make their first green weapon.
HH 1-2 - Level 70 armour and weapon. 5 bosses.
HH 1-3 - ??

HH 2-1 - Level 70/80 armour and weapon. 3 bosses in group mode. Solo 2 bosses.
HH 2-2 - ??
HH 2-3 - ???

Creating item from the materials. You need ThouArgute Wood. ThouArgute Wood is also needed if you choose a certain type of pt mode.
ThouArgute Wood can be created at the furnaces at ADC or at the HH area. It requires 5 fine timber, 5 anthracite, 5 whetstone powder, and fine-smelt steel.

Solo Mode
A maximum of 4 people can join solo mode. Werefox can typically do a solo mode by themselves. A WR and EP can generally duo this mode.

Party Mode
Minimum 4 people. Best team formation is 1 wf, 1 wb, 1 (any type)wr, 1 ea, 2 ep. The EPs take turns to zhen at boss which has aoe. WF is for luring but as HH is very long, the WF should use Amplify Maim (20% extra dmg at in 6 sec at lvl 1) where possible for boss. Preferably time it just before the axe WR uses the ultimate aoe skill (50% extra dmg for 6 sec at lvl 1).

The wb must use hp heiro for rushing. Rushing means the wb will aggro all mobs while the other team members run behind the wb. The rushing method can save a lot of time. The EA must buff speed skill so that everyone will move faster to the boss.

〖Le§Gend】 officially disbanded. Today at 9pm we had an one hour photo shot at thousand stream city. No thanks to certain warlord people who joined our little gathering.

The 'cuddle me' in the air photo shoot. It was pretty hard to co-ordinate in the air with the sting-rays blocking everyone.

The number one guild! Fireworks sponsored by giffenz and maxine. The F9 function is really good for taking screencaptures. Except please do not use the print screen button provided for you will end up with black screens.

A short review of Rohan

Patching the game

I wanted to play Rohan even before I even heard of Granado Espada. I heard about the township battles and I thought it was cool and nice. Since I heard that the JPN server are no longer IP restricted, I jumped at the chance to play it using a translation patch that some kind souls (CptGuano) made.

The graphics was only ok. I actually couldn't find the settings button so I cannot play around with the graphics levels. I liked the music. It has pretty nice background music. It does not play continuously which is good.

The interface is confusing. But that's probably because I do not understand japanese. I noticed that the quest log reveals all quest that can be taken for all races so do not be like me and run around wondering how to go to some strange place to get quests.

Each level gives you five stats points i think. AND do not click on anything unless you are sure because once you added it, it's permanent. Each level gives you one skill point. Likewise for skills, adding a point is permanent.

There's also some strange dungeon that you can hit the mob for higher exp.

At level 50 you get to specialize in your job. Each class has two jobs.

This was about as far as I got in this game. Overall the game is alright but it feels grindy even at low level. And that is a really bad sign.

ROHAN Vs CabalSEA

CabalSEA open beta started last monday after more than a year of false promises. While I was accepted to the close beta, I did not tested it (go to e2max to activate account? wth?). Previously I already played cabal on two separate occasions and I think cabal was seriously overrated. Perhaps it was because I didn't know what to do in the game (i was testing the level 100 characters), so I ended up feeling bored abut it.

Rohan will finally have a close beta on the 17th of march. Its open beta date is still unknown. I played Rohan on the Japanese server and it was a typical korean mmo. It has some nice details (see this post).

Overall, mmorpgs are basically mmorpgs. You got to grind your way up to the level 100++ and in the end there's not much content anyway. So far the only recent mmorpgs that shows some promises are Aion and frighteningly enough Q-world with it's quest-based leveling system.

Perfect World Guide: Crafting Quest

Every 4, 6 and 8 levels of each crafting skill has a quest.
Every 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 levels can be upgraded by going to any elders.

For the first crafting quest, you have to be level 50 and you must produce 3 different 2star items for Blacksmith, Tailor and Jewelery.
For the second crafting quest, you need to be level 80 and have to produce 5 different 2 star items for each of those skills.
For the third, you need to be level 99 and you have to produce 6 different 2 star items for blacksmith and tailor, and 5 2 star for Jewelery.

The Duke of deer is fond of giving nonsensical nonsense but he is not entirely useless. This is a small guide for everything you need to know about him.

Do you know...

That everything time you talk to him you need to pay 10 gold?
That he moves throughout ancient dragon city? He moves every second.
That you can get 10k from him if you are lucky.
That you can get some exp and skill points if you are very very lucky
That he gives information on where to make 3 stars item/refine items. Accuracy is debatable.
That he warned that killing small animals (red horse, little cat etc) is a very bad idea.
That you may need to find him if you are doing Dragon Quest
That he announces the location of Rancor Force event

How to find Duke of deer?

The man of nonsense always moves in a particular path. As a matter of fact he moves in a circle (square?).

As he moves every second on this path, do not expect him to be in the same place you saw him a day ago. An advise will be to go west Adc and ask people for his location.

Recently my guild has been embroiled in scandal after scandal.

First a certain lvl 9x werebeast made a boohoo of himself wanting to sell his ID, created some non-existing conflict and used all of these to leave guild and enter warlord.

Then 15 high lvl members decided that the managing style of our guild stank (which was true). So all of them left and set up a new guild Myth. Ever since then, Myth has been leeching a sizable number of members from legend.

Next, our guild master, oh sorry I mean former guild master, decided to run off with all the money. He transfer guild master (Gm) title to another level 89 member and joined warlord.

And guess what? That replacement Gm also left.

So. Someone else took over and decided that legend has been leeched too much of their talents. Our temporary Gm believed that legend has no hope so he made a deal with Myth and asked all active members to go over to Myth. Myth will then take over all of our land. BUT, the guild as a collective whole decided our current temporary Gm should be permanent and that we should as least try.

Our new Gm tried to strike a new deal with Myth. Myth with all its ex-legends decided to snub us and instead warred on a different land than previously agreed. Myth and Legend are now on hostile terms.

Myth is now under kill on sight(KOS) notice from warlord. Not that I have any sympathy.

Legend isn't dead yet and will try to survive on.

Getting Grandice Card

I promised this guide a long time ago. Just noticed that there's still a lot of people who still do not know how to do grandice's quest so I decided (finally!) to do this guide.

This guide is based pre-2.4.

Grandice's card is the most difficult to get as the steps to get the key for her card must be very precise.

Before doing anything else, make sure you have completed all of grandice's quests. Also, make sure you have a Key to the Room to the Dead. This key can be found from mini-boss such as the mummy and boneless. The key is a rare drop. Drops only 2 times out of the 100 over times I killed those boss.

This is a very low quailty video of how to get the ring. I used to have a very high quality (took me ages to download from the korean website) but I deleted it when I stopped playing GE.

In the old 2.1 version I played, I used to do this room with 2 other people. We were all Vets wearing/equipped with elite 84 (only 3 e100 back then should have borrowed e100 from my friend argh) except for my noob scout (for buffing lvl 11 buffs).

When you enter the cave there are four big skeletons, one red skull that looks like boneless and the Ravyn. When you damage the skull for about 1/6 of its hp, one of the big skeleton will unfreeze to attack you. IMPORTANT: DO NOT KILL THE SKELETON! Tank that skeleton and damage the skull until all four skeletons are attacking. When all four skeletons are moving, kill them before the red skull and Ravyn can finally be targeted. Kill Ravyn and pray ring drops.

The drops for this ring is very small. In the 5 times I did this correctly, the ring dropped only once.

This can be soloed if you have a tanker and a dps. (it's tough tho)

I also learned by the hard way (wasting a lot of keys)that Ravyn does not respawn instantly in other channels. Meaning you can't kill him in channel 2 and then immediately go to channel 1 to kill again.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Been ages since I last played.

Note: This is pre-2.4 or whatever version ge is now. My way worked for me then.

A series of unfortunate colours

So one day I was minding my own business when The Sudden Sight of Yellow stunned me as surely as a dodo using doodoo.

When I finally recovered from the stun, I left to visit the mechanizer to buy some nice soulstones. Instead, I heard him complaining about the new skill: Pronto Invisible.

Apparently, this skill allows his customers to become invisible and run off without paying. Startled by the state of affairs, (and resolving to learn Pronto Invisible hohohoho) I left the enclosed trading area only to see NAKED WOMAN! (the kitty shop wasn't ogling... I think)

And thus another unusual day without any kung fu in Perfect world passed...

Trojan over but...

The GM did respond to the Trojan scare. I'm actually surprised for I thought they would leave it till today. The GM confirmed that it was a false positive. However right after this we have another problem.

A number of players (including me) experienced sudden client crashes in the morning. And apparently the situation is getting worse.

I think I will just go do my assignment until it is solved =S

Virus? Trojan? It's an alien!!!

While the various guilds are happily pking each other, there were shocking news of the element client being infected by a trojan. What is this cubizone? Is this another plot to take over our computer and steal our credit card information to buy more cubi-gold?

Or is the alliance with offgamers to sell cubi-gold finally roused the envy of other plvling and gold selling website leading them to launch a fearsome attack on us poor players? Oh noes! And what is this thing about a worm that steal informations from computer with certain games client? Egad! Today's earthworm no longer eat earth. They eat credit card information and user names with passwords.

And despite today being a saturday, shouldn't cubizone reply asap? Perhaps they have early CNY celebrations. But, what a way to scare customers away! Maybe I should just stop playing MMORPG for good.

Attack of the Sharks

The following post is purely my own opinion.

The Background
In oracle, 3 guilds has formed an alliance with the leading dominance guild, Warlord. The 3 guilds are: Reborn, Legend, and Chemical. However, since a few weeks ago, the alliance was already growing weak when leveling spots became crowded.....

Present
There was a sudden rise of conflict yesterday afternoon (not sure cos I was leveling my werefox and ignored all the world chats). Warlord pked legend and chemical and vice verse There were especially serious conflicts with chemical and as of today morning the chemical and warlord are no longer allies.

Yes, chemical is about to have GG printed above their name

Future
There is speculation that warlord deliberately picked on chemical. There is no longer a need for an alliance when warlord has finally conquered all the way to chemical - and thus take over chemcial as well. Meanwhile, perhaps both reborn and legend should take note of what Warlord is going to do and decide if the alliance is really an alliance or just a tactic to conquer the entire map?

ROHAN

The playrohan website has been out since 2005 but it was only in October last year that YNK published a notice hinting of a possible close beta coming soon. Finally an international version! All other versions of this game is P2P (at least it was the last time I checked) meaning I cannot even try to play (before they IP ban me anyway). This game has huge potential but it's not on the scale of Aion which is also coming out this year.

The graphics from what I can see from the screenshots available looks normal. What is interesting about ROHAN is the town ship battles and the town building. You can buy a land and build your own house, building! The PVP system sounds interesting but I would have to try it before I can review on that. They have six classes at the later expansion and special skills for people in guilds.

If you're going to visit their webpages, do look at their movie trailers. Looks good if I say so.

Edit: The Japanese Rohan is no longer P2p (apparently it happened in Dec 2007), but they IP ban their official website. Go figure.

No Cabal

Before I started playing in Perfect World open beta, I actually entertained thoughts of playing cabal. A GM had spoken out in the asiasoft forum that Cabal will be out early December. Unfortunately, Cubizone with its numerous of delays was able to announce open beta first. So off I went playing Perfect World.

I received an email from asiasoft today saying that there's new content in their Cabal website. However, close beta is still not announced! Hello?! Asiasoft what on earth are you doing? I won't be surprise if most of the gamers who waited since early last year have all left to play some other games. This is no way to do business. They should take a leaf from IAH (but do not follow their managing style, they ruined HGL and GE).

All companies should not promise what they cannot promise. Disappointing your customers (no matter how immature they act) is a huge NO NO. Afterall, these kiddo (among with us old folks) are the ones paying for the game. Now when will rohan be out....

Perfect World Guide: Ingame Events Part 0.5

Rancor Force
This event activates only when the Duke of Deer announces on the world chat that an area is being attacked by the Rancor Force. Upon arriving to the area, you will find special mob with rancor force as part of their names. These mobs are typically hard to kill if you are not the same level as them. They drop armour, weapon, pots, arrows, celestial stone, hell stone, heaven stone, reputation waist adorn, and mission scrolls. The lowest level rancor force is level 20.

There are no level 60 and lvl 80 rancor force and if you kill the rancor force boss, it drops a lot of items.

The event last for 30 minutes.

The Tomb Rider Competition
The tomb Rider Competition starts every Saturday 7pm to 9pm, . When this event start, you can proceed to enter any of the arena at City of feather, City of Ethersword, City of Vanished and Ancient Dragon City.

26 treasure chests are spawned in the middle of the Arena for the players to dig and open Rewards varies from the good (grade 6 soul stone) to the bad (cotton thread). Certain chests spawns bosses* which drops tons of gold(sometimes 20k for each pile), mirage stones, celestial stone, hell stone, and heaven stone. It also spawns mobs which drop badge of strength.

You can fly, ride a mount, PK without any consequences. Players who die in the event will be auto-revived and can proceed to continuing on.

The event does not allow any discarding of items so do make sure you have enough slots in your inventory.

A maximum of 200 people can enter the arena.

*The loots from the boss are free for all to pick.

Level 60
Dragon Palace
This event takes place from 8pm to 12 midnight every Tuesday. A maximum of 200 players can enter the event at any given time. This is an underwater event where players have to dig treasure chests and exchange the items from the chest to the Dragon Palace Activity Emissary at the starting point.

The NPC will give really nice rewards. The special mobs in the event may sometimes drop badges of stamina which can be exchanged for 6000 skill points.

Some chests are guarded by many mobs. The three main guarding mob are DracoAsgard Guard, Treasurekeeper Undine, and DracoAsgard Undine.

As seen from the screenshot above, there are 6 mobs guarding this particular treasure chest. 1,2,5 do not move and deal so-so damage. 3,4,6 move around the area near the chest. DracoAsgard Guard which is not shown in the screenshot is also patrolling the area.

Special items: Pwnage necklace.

Level 40
Horse Racing event
Horse racing are limited to any characters which are level 40 and above. This event occur twice daily. See this guide for more information.

Forest Ruins
Forest ruin occurs every sunday at 3pm. In this event you have to navigate into a maze with traps and try not be killed by the patron mobs.

All mobs deal ungodly damage and you are likely die in one hit. There are also traps that if you fall to them you will die. Once you die you will be revived at the entrance. You do not lose any exp or gold when you die in this event. Only wasting hierograms if you used them.

Your job is to find an npc at the end of the maze. If you are the first to arrive, you can dig a chest which has the gold necklace, the eye of the forester as a reward.

This is a event that gives huge amount of exp if you complete the event in the shortest time. The longer you take to complete the event, the less exp you will received. The event last for 3 hours. After thirty minutes, the amount of exp you can received will be reduced by half. After an hour, that amount of exp will be reduced by half again.

High levels who participle in this event will also receive a lower amount of exp as compared to a level 40. Every ten levels, the amount of experience allocated to a player will reduce. The player who completes the quest under 4minutes and 12 second will obtain the highest reward possible.

There are various rooms with chests in the ruins that cannot be entered unless you use a portal. There are two types of portal. The blue portal sends you back to the entrance and the red portal randomly transport you to any area. These chests contains grade 8 or 9 soulstones, special experience books as well as the the badges of techniques.

NOTE: Forest Ruins is suspended for the MY-EN version due to abuse of bugs.

Special event
Grudge Invasion
A special event that takes place at only two areas.This event is NOT totally random. To activate event, give the elder of the city the secret letter. This item is from mob drops. It lasts for an hour.

Rather similar to rancor force except that there's no announcement and the mobs has no level. It has no boss and mobs drop special items that gives experience. These items are not tradable.

Comments: suicide event! don't go unless you want die at least 10 times and pked multiple times

Future Events
Invasion of Ancient Dragon City
Every Wednesday. Ten minutes before the event begins, defending soldiers will appear at the West, South and North gates. There will also be a system announcement about the invasion. After the event begin, attacking soldiers will begin to attack the gates

The attack will occur in five waves of attack. There will be at least one boss in each wave. When a boss from a previous attack dies, the next attack will begin immediately. In each attack, the enemy soldiers will respawn continuously until the boss die.

When the event comes to an end, previously unsummoned bosses will not appear but the bosses that are on the battlefield will continue to attack. All bosses and mobs drop items that can be exchanged for reputation. Each boss will drop drop one badge of fearless.

Yearly Horse Racing
Only players with the yearly race ticket are able to enter this event. Every player who join in this event will receive 50 mirage stones (O_O). The first 16 players who reaches the final checkpoint will win a level 45 clock with 4 socket, +10con, +500 phy def, +3% decrease physical harm and increase in movement speed 0.2m/s, and a special mount.

Wisdom Quiz
Yet to be released, this event is a simple quiz. To join this event, you need to have a wisdom card.

There are ten level. Each level contains 10 questions. Each time you completed a level, you will have to talk to the npc to continue to the next level. Should you answer wrongly, you will need to use another wisdom card to redo the question.

Every time you completed a level, rewards will be given. The quality and quantity of the prizes depend on the level you completed. The higher the level, the better the reward. If you do not have any space in your inventory you will not be able to receive the reward and you have to redo the quiz all over again.

Players must complete each level within an hour or they will not be able to receive any reward for that level.

Note: If you completed the quiz within the time limit, you can repeat the quiz if you wish to do so.

NetherBeast City
Occurs every monday 8pm to 12am. Requires a party for this event. You need to kill various bosses with your party. You can continue this quest the next week if it's incomplete (which will likely to be the case). In total there are 22 bosses to be killed.

This event drops courage badges and special items that allows to exchange for 100 reputation. The loots from the bosses are free for all to pick.

In this event you will not lose any experience or gold when you die. You will be revived in the bottom left room. You may exit by talking to the npc at the entrance.

There are five types of the quest. Players may choose the quest which is suitable for their level.

Reward for winning this event is a ring.

The purpose of any wolf cub events is not just to have fun but also for you to exchange for one of the best weapon in the server. The level 90 legendary red weapons. You need all seven kinds of prove and 35k reputation to obtain the weapon.

I feel old. I have been blogging for 7 long years. I can't remember where i read it but 1 year = 3 media years. So that makes me 21 years old in media years?

A year ago I didn't have a gaming blog. I was still working and actively playing 黄易群侠传, a chinese game based on 黄易 (Huang Zuciang's) novels.

Looking at this SS, the graphics of this game pales in comparison to the likes of GE and perfect world.

I remembered spending long hours playing this game(total grindfest) before getting bored of it (everyone in the game is/uses a bot). I had a hard time playing the game, firstly because of the chinese (moi nearly failed chinese) and secondly because I do not know how to input chinese. Communication is very important in any game. I think that is also one of the reason i left that game. Fast forward to 2008, I am now playing perfect world (also a chinese game except that it's translated). Considering that I'm at a level where the game is a grindfest, I wonder how long it will take before I lost interest as I did to 黄易群侠传.

〖Le§Gend】attacks a chinese guild. Many in the guild suspected that the guild master of that CN guild created a empty guild to bid for their own land in an attempt ward us off. Meanwhile Warlord breaks(once again) record with 74,747,474 to bid for a land. Rich. >.>

As predicted, last week war had a few guild vs guild. Most members in my guild were getting very blood thirsty and so when the chance finally came, boy did they show their prowess. A record 16 minute for a guild vs guild war. Here are 2 videos taken from that particular war.

I didn't attend this war. I am usually not free on Saturday. Here's hoping that this week war will not be on Saturday.

Christmas in PW (Japan)

War gets expensive

War gets expensive this week as more and more guilds in perfect world matured. A total of 13 lands are being attacked this time round with the lowest bid being 500k. The highest? A stunning figure of 21 million by Warlords. This week also sees the first guild vs guild war. As Pandacrew(purple) was unable to match with Voodoo(light orange)'s 12 million on Astound Ridge, they attacked Voodoo. This match should prove to be interesting. More so as Voodoo will need a lot of cash to build battle towers and fend off Pandacrew from their castle. However they have already spend 12million on declaring war on Astound Ridge - will they still have the capital to go on?

It is also fascinating that 3 guilds are unable to war on any land this week. This is due to lack of lands available at south west of the map where 6 guilds have to co-exist with each other. Well, they certainly will not coexist with each other peacefully next week where there will be partially no lands left (apart from the major cities). Warring with each other will be the only way to go.

Christmas in PW

Due to complains by users clamouring for Christmas events, Cubinet decided to host their own events. First was a event where the GM will buy cashshop items and rare pet(Dodo) from players while the second event was a treasure hunt event where the GM would drop the items brought the day before for anyone to pick.

One of the events at GE was finding a certain amount of Christmas trees which can then be exchanged for Christmas hats and some other stuff. Taken from ninemoons.

The events were of course heavily criticized. Aimed at the cashshop users and werefoxes, many of the players were unhappy. The amount of those items required were also purchased by the GM at a rather small amount. For the second event, I heard from Ueto, that the many players squeezed in that small area caused a horrifying lag. The events were a far cry from those organised in other MMORPG such as Grando Espada or MMO.

It makes wonder why Cubinet did not anticipate that players would want some Christmas cheer in the game. Perhaps PW over at the china server has the related events just that our version is so far behind that the patches are uncompilable. Still, shouldn't have the company informed the management at China and work something out earlier?

Attack on Hammer

It's been a long time since I lasted posted anything.... Been busily leveling my character in Perfect World. Last sunday I finally went on my very first war!

Attacking the mob in line B... when we all committed suicide. I was actually quite surprised that everyone's name was in red despite having watched pandacrew's video. What happens if we attacked (or people attacked us) another territory? Will we be white red pink or? How are we gonna figure who on my side. =_=

Getting murdered by the Great Hammer! I managed to complete a skill before I died. That stinks. Big time. I lose count of the number of times I died during the battle. Good thing it does not affect my exp... >.<

The aftermath... Everyone cheered when we broke our previous record of killing the ugly hammer! No offense to hammer lovers. ( I am one too XD) If only my group did not suicided. '_'

Returning back to Ethersword... when we found out there is no teleport to path of haunting -_-lll

War is pretty fun but warriors face a big disadvantage in it. The aoe ensures pretty much all the lower lvl WR to die immediately. And that truly suck. Yet another disadvantage of warrior.

Yes. It's been a long time since I last updated this blog. I'm been playing Perfect World (and exploring stupid things such as how far you can fly up, next to try is how far you can swim down.)

I finally gotten my 3mil from my close beta event (get to lvl 49 in 2 weeks) so after splitting the loot up, and buying some much needed heiographs, I'm left with very little cash. Haiz. This game eats money faster than I can say superman.

Brilliant IAH! Your move was totally ingenuous! You just showed to everyone that you loved money and to pursuit that course of action, you decided to screw all your customers in the process. It does not matter how many times you have said that the f2p model is something that IMC has dictated. We all know that is but a excuse. I do understand you spend loads of money to advertise this game. But to milk your customers in such a way? Do you even know how to do business? Oh wait! You do.

Don't even let me start on the rewards. Everyone who has half a brain knows that is compensation and not reward. And the worse thing of all? The people who brought the Limited edition boxset with emila get completely screwed over. Since they were likely to activate the GVC before 30th August.

And the bots. Wasn't the purpose of the P2P system about getting rid of the bots? Oops! It's because you got frightened by the lack of new players as the 90 days got closer. The lack of players signing in after the 90 days was probably the final straw wasn't it?

From a business point of view, what you did was right. Indeed I had predicted earlier on that GE will change to f2p. But even I didn't expect it to be so fast. The GE during the 90 days lost many of the original players who were unable to stay on due to the lack of content or they continue and bot. Unfortunately the new content comes after the the 90 days were up and many of the players left once that was up..... The amount of investment especially after buying the latest patch was the point of contention wasn't it? This was also the reason why you did not ban the players that were caught botting.

Sadly, all this just served to show how incompetent you are. Not that you cared as seen by the lack of response you have given. Oh well.

Creating personalized characters and saving it!

I made a big boo hoo when creating my character. I created her on the wrong server! So I can't use my original IGN anymore T___T. (7 days to delete a character. also a bit worried that I can't received my CB event prize) Anyway in Perfect world you can create a custom character design. I advise people to not use the standard templates given created by the game. Those are really fugly.

Here's a useful tip from me. You can save the design that you create. Also your character design can be edited for the next 2 days. After that it's fixed. Hope this is useful to you.

Perfect World is finally out.

Patching my PW client from version 4 to 6.

When I login to GE (trying to find Ninemoons to give her prize), I noticed that I have only 5 days left before I can cease to login forever (until they change to f2p which I think is soon).

I actually stopped playing GE near the end of September when I first heard that PW close beta was coming out. But I have not uninstall GE firstly because I still have some days left and secondly because for sentimental value. Grando Espada for all its lagginess and bugs was special not just because I have made friends who now meet in RL frequently (gathering this sunday =D). I also met my special someone in this game. And it wasn't just me. Others did too. So GE is really really special for me.

But now it's really time to move on. I will probably give up my spot in the GXL GE PVP as well so the other 105 players can be glad of one less competitor for the $1000.

On one fine morning. No. Make that bloody fricking early morning. Everyone was tired - well except for maybe that psychopath who never sleep; his turrets were lvl 9x! - but still we have to try. There was no other way to find out.

We were confident. Embolden by our earlier efforts, kept awake by sheer adrenaline, we prepared to kill the golden spider once again. The plan was simple. Build and summon. Lure circularly. Attack. Ress all dead. Rinse and repeat. After 10 kills, collect amber and give it to Lezard.

"Those people know about this place too... But they couldn't kill it..."
Blah. Plans always sounded much easier. Especially when you were dead and everyone was panicking over the stubborn spiders that refused to be lured.

"But we can."

But it was fun. In a sadistic manner that forces you to stay awake way after 4.36am in the bloody morning.

It was getting easier. It was amazing how easy a brunch of levels 61 to 9x took down the mini boss with practice. And soon we would had the ambers needed to kill our rivals. The colony war.

The next war is ours.

Note: I found my old spider screenshots and wrote a post based on what i felt at that point of time. Plenty of stuff have happened since then of course... But at that time, I'm confident to say we're(dominion) the first to kill the golden spider and the first to utilize them in war.

I can't quite remember what level Lezard's jack was. Only that the old man was 92 at least. Neither can I remember what level Rey was. I'm quite ashamed to say I had the lowest level among all of them at that time.

The original dominion GS hunting team are: Rey, Reduan, Lezard, Leoz, Rococo and Sitcoa.

Learning how to tank

Due to the fact that my faction leader was deleveled (and quit the game), my old faction, dragonforce was disbanded. I ended up joining Prestige and as a result the whole faction 51 quest has to be redone again. Somehow, this time i ended up being the person to tank the Great Hill giant. T_T

As I have never done tanking before, I took opportunity to look for some mini-boss to test on the day itself. Experiments include Phobitan General and boneless. It was quite a disaster. Before I knew what happen, the red kung-fu master has reduced my wizard Hp to 0 and was in the process of doing the same to my fighter. Mass spamming on the pot key managed to do the trick but it was still a while before I managed to kill it.

Up next was boneless which I accidentally chanced upon. Did the next thing and viola I did it! So when it was time I was quite confident. Unfortunately I failed. I used stave guard. Instead of high guard. =.=lll

As it was too close to dinner time, our faction decided that we will try again at 9pm. I login at 8.14pm and waited until 22XX for our sleeping faction leader. =.= Obs! Why do you have to nap at that time?!

So after our sleeping yan dao leader(handsome guy in hokkien) woke up, we tried GHG again. As per usual, it failed. It seemed as though third time is always the charm. Yup! I was able to tank the GHG successfully at the third try. Didn't die at all! (fighter only, the number of times wizard die is uncountable lol)

And for the third try, a number of people from other factions came to help and the GHG hp did not regen. =3

Hence I learned how to tank. If you do not know how to tank mob, just go and tank a GHG, you will be forced to learn how to tank successfully, (so that other people won't curse when you caused it hit them =.=ll) .

Some tips:

Use high guard/defender when tanking. NOT stave guard or whatever stance ._.'
Always use a good sword or mace to tank. This is so that you deal enough dmg to it that it won't get aggro by other people.
Use provoke before casting guardian
Use guardian ring >.<
Bring lot of pots
Tank towards a wall

Cervantes pwnage at MY PVP

Held over 2 days, the Malaysia GE tournament was dominated by the players in Cervantes server.

For the PVP 5 vs 5 and 2 vs 2, 5 of the top three places are secured by the teams send by (the now defunct) yakisoba and Dominion. In a surprising move, Yakisoba and Dominion (probably because both sides do not have enough players) joined forces to emerge winner in the Save the GM (boss raid) event.

"We are happy to win both competitions," said Lezard, one half of the winning 2 vs 2 team when asked at 6.45 am this morning. "Now I have to wake Ralphe up to go to work before I can sleep."

Rotten apples spoil the broth

I'm aware that in every faction there will always be some spoiled apples . But it seemed as though Anonymous has been a tad too many bad apples.

I strongly believe that if once you leave your spot, that spot can be taken over by anyone. But apparently a certain member from Anonymous is so shameless and thinks otherwise. Well. I won't fight with childish people like them but damn they need to grow up! I supposed he feels happy now having ksing people.

Anonymous people also seemed to feel happy in pking people for in rion. Oh well. Whatever floats their boat. Good thing I chose DragonForce over Anonymous though. I was so close to joining Anonymous. Now I'm completely glad that I didn't.

It took 7 people and 3 tries to kill the GHG. =.=lll First try was really close. 1 more % and it would have died. If our tanker did not die first. T__T

The second try was a mess. Everyone went suicided. The third try was a charm. We did way before the 30 minutes limit.

For the second part of lvl 51 faction quest, DragonForce would like to thank the six people from the factions cloudnine, and Athena, as well as Knightingale from Chocoporing and Ueto from dominion for the help. =3 We couldn't have done it with out all your help.

Thanks to all the help, this time I didn't not get stuck, (although someone else did LOL) and I was able to see the stupid boss which like to swing its arms. =.= What kind of attack is that by the way?

Some after thoughts:
I found that this time round the faction quest is so much easier than I was still in dominion even though there was only 15 (as compared to 27 at that time). Probably because I was only level 64 when I tagged along for the quest and I keep dying. T__T

Snowfield Quest: Meeting the bushy man

Source of the wondrous song Purple Snow (which coincidently was not found in the OST), Snowfield boosts of beautiful scenery and.... very tough mobs.

Snowfield is also the basic area that you have to start off with if you ever hope to reach to Ice Wizard Tower. Before you freeze yourself in the tower you'll have to first do a series of quests.

The snowfield camp (at I6 of the map) is unlike Utsier base camp for there are only three people! I guess it's too cold for people to stay there.

First we have mr bushy hair also known as Ludeza Visihah. He is the one who is responsible for giving all those tough irritating quest that you must endure.

The sight of mr bushy hair send my characters into a state of agony.

Like all snowy areas, there is a soldier selling stuff.

There is also a rescue knight. But she deserves a whole post to herself XD

Return of the dark lag?

Apparently there will be another dark ~~lag~~ lord event. Thankfully IAH seemed to have learnt from their experience and have separated the event for each server and making full use of the three channels too. This leads me to speculate that channel 1 will of course experience the most lag for in Cervantes most people are between lvl 80-100.

But I do not really get what the event is about. How are you going to roleplay when you're killing boss? In the middle of lag too. Can anyone tell me?

Having say that, I don't mind role playing....

Goodbye Dominion, Hello DragonForce

I have so much treasured times in Dominion. From the very first day I started playing in Open Beta I was already in Dominion. But things are not meant to be.

I only joined Dragonforce an hour hence and I already like the feel of the faction. It is small and nice. Very different from dominion. In any case, I do not hit the lvl required to rejoin Dominion so this is for the best. =)

To WussKing. You're the greatest faction leader! Although you always take one month to reply any pm. I know how much you have done for the faction and how much you worry over all the matters. You're a fantastic war leader.

To Ueto. I'm so sorry that I broke my promise again. I know I promised I will join back dominion but things got a little too much. Thank you for everything and you're the best leader ever! Team Bueto is the best!

To Cathy and miyake. I'm really really sorry. Please don't KOS me?

To BaoBao. I still hate you.

Fried this and it will be yakisoba!

I woke up at 1++am today and couldn't sleep. There was only one option: Play GE! While I was looking for a spot in SD a sudden broadcast captured everyone's attention. That of Yakisoba's dissolve.

I wasn't really surprised. And while I do hate certain members of yakisoba, I do respect them. Most of the time. Still this situation does not mean that yakisoba will not be reborn under another name. I, for one strongly believe that yakisoba will be formally disband tomorrow when the map are wiped. This gives them up to this Sunday to create another faction. Of course this is only my theory it may or may not be true.

Yakisoba members killing carnage and dominion

Dominion and Yakisoba has a temporary peace treaty. No ksing of boss (which they broke today, I saw them aoeing us out of a sudden), no killing of each other members (which they broke yesterday). I know a lot of people in dom is pissed off as yakisoba (the new members) have been killing doms all over the place.

Even the people who believed that we should truce yakisoba have all changed their minds. So the peace treaty is officially over.

I was stuck in traffic yesterday morning and i wrote a long essay refuting yaki's claims. It's really long winded and i decided not to post to here until i edit it to a paragraph. haha. (Updated: I can't find the paper where i wrote the essay on. = =)

Let's talk about the bday boy instead. I received the Kl photo trip yesterday and I noticed i totally forgotten about someone's bday. SO SORRY!!! But from what I see from the photos, he got a lot of luv. XD

Some of the reallyyyy interesting photos included a threesome on bed! A traumatized Bday boy after he was ~~raped~~ pranked by the charming lizard! Not to mention, the scandalous video of the bday boy being ~~molested~~ made fun of by the lizard amidst calls of kiss kiss by the overexcited ~~yaoi fangirls and fanboys(?)~~ audience! Unfortunately, the photos and video will not be posted here. I fear I will find myself at lvl 1 one fine day if i do that.

Sometimes I wonder why on earth I joined a faction full of nutcases and humsups.

Unless you live in your closed fantasy world, it will be near impossible to not see the heavy marketing that IAH has been carrying out for past 2 month. What am I talking about? Granado Esapda of course!

When I told my cousin in February, that Granado Espada will be the next big game in Singapore, he did not believe it. Well, look who eating his words now?

What's so good about Granado Espada? The community! I think if it wasn't for my guild I wouldn't have grind so much. My level is still so low though.

I played GE in the CBT (Closed Beta Trial). I joined the death_scythe faction (now known as leviataion or sumthing - can't remember = =) at that time and it was fun!

Anyway, I played in cervantes server now(the pk one muhahaha). I do not know about the other servers but in Cervantes, there are four main powerful guilds: Yakisoba, Dominions, Carnage and G.O.D. Other well-known factions: Virlead. The PVP event at zouk raid party are mostly all members from the four guilds. Even in the colony war, the territories are mostly occupied by the four. Yakis took the most though.

The lag during the last day of CBT was legendary.

Bad things about things about GE? The Bots. And. The lag. I hate the lag. And the fact they nerfed cath! NOOOO. ;_;

Oh well. I look forward to P2P and enjoy my beloved Emila!
